My name is Kelly Saylor, I am a very proud, strong Torres Strait Islander Woman. I come from the Island of MUR and I am related to Eddie Mabo.
As a proud Torres Strait Islander Woman our people lived off the water. Our people moved across the water spiritually and water embodied our mental state. Water holistically heals and relieves pressures of the world.
For people everywhere, water represents food, humanity, healing, strength and empowerment. All cultures attending IPAC19 need water for a food source, health and wellbeing. It connects us country to country and clan to clan. We are all as one.
IPAC19 acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
